This is a simple recipe, but it's fancy, delicious, and lovely. Spices include ginger, cinnamon, black pepper, turmeric, cardamom, vanilla, and more. Here are the bare bones (more detailed recipe included with order!) -- Serves 3-4, total cooking time ~ 40 minutes.
1) Boil water, cook the barley like pasta, drain.
2) While cooking, make spiced milk -- toss spice packet into 2 cups milk, bring to scalding point, let sit.
3) Mix spiced milk with cooked barley, cherries, until slightly thickened.
4) Spoon into serving bowls and top each with a handful of nuts.
